Ghost Town Wild West Museum Scrapbook Page

February 29, 2024

This scrapbook page I thought I'd be a little different and go with sepia and black and white photos. I only had 2 good photos of my daughter from here, so I looked online for some pictures to use with it. The postcard I did make with some Stampin Up! stamps and tried to make it look very old.  I used a paper distresser for the edges on some of the pictures. You can also use your nails and just keep scratching the sides. Either way does make a mess with little pieces of paper.  I also sponged a little brown on the edges and on some of the photos.

Most of her panning for gold she was looking down or other people were in the way. But that's okay, we have these photos in the carriage there.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Colorado Scrapbook Page

 February 28, 2024

Today we're going to the zoo. How about you? Sorry, couldn't help myself. As the name says it is on the side of the mountain and you get a lot of exercise while looking at all the animals.

Colorado Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Scrapbook Page

I really liked how this one came out. It was a lot of cutting out letters in both black and giraffe patterned paper, giving it a little depth. I know my children had a lot of fun while there. This one was pretty short, but if you have any questions please leave a comment.

Another Day at Garden of the Gods

February 27, 2024

I'm back again. Sorry, have had lots of appointments lately and a couple funerals this week. Today is another scrapbook page from Garden of the Gods. There are so many different places to see in that 1341 acre park!

Another Day at Garden of the Gods Scrapbook Page

The kids had a great time crawling into small spaces. And yes, sometimes, I just like to throw all the pictures together. No frame, just pictures with some added embellishments. However, I did one thing, that isn't always the easiest to do. Although the it's hard to see in the picture above, I took a close-up at an angle to show you in the second one below.

Layering pictures for a 3D effect scrapbook page

For this I had to print the same photo twice and carefully cut out one of them of just the family. I then used foam adhesive squares, you can use circles, or Stampin Up's dimensionals. Any of these can be cut to fit the pieces you need to raise up the picture or use a whole one in bigger areas. Unless you want some to be a different height, use the same kind for the whole picture. Some are shorter than others. Then cover the original picture with the layered one. This can also be done to die cuts and other items to give them dimension too. Another trick I used was to melt Perler beads in the oven and I glued the orange and yellow ones between the triangles at the top. There are several places on the internet and Pintrest that will instruct you on how to melt the beads. Remember they do release toxic fumes in the oven, so if you do it, please use precautions.

I hope you liked today's scrapbook page.

Garden of the Gods Colorado Scrapbook Page

February 17, 2024

Today we're back to our scrapbook pages from our Colorado trip. This one was our day at Garden of the Gods. It was quite the adventure. We were looking across the way when we saw at least 3 people at the top of the Kissing Camels! My daughter hadn't been there before, but the other 3 of us had. We knew there wasn't a trail to go up there and there are signs there that say, "Do not climb!" Within a few minutes there were police, ambulance, and fire trucks there, looking for the 3. Luckily, we could still walk around and see the sights. However, at one point we could hear a girl telling a guy to turn himself in. It all ended up on the news that night. Made for a unforgettable trip!

Garden of the Gods Colorado Scrapbook idea

My husband really liked how I put this one together. He liked how the big pictures were scenery with the smaller pictures at the top and bottom. It's such a lovely place! Lots of places to explore, except the areas that you are not to climb.🙄  Hope you like todays post.

Baby Shower Open Heart Card

February 16, 2024

Today I'm switching to a baby shower card. With Valentine's Day being earlier this week, I think this card goes along nicely. I have done these for both boys and girls. If I can find the ones I did for boys I will add them later.

Pink baby shower card

Excuse my fingers, I didn't have anything else to keep it closed while I took a picture of it. The ribbon was the hardest to attach just right.

Inside baby shower card

This is what the inside looks like. To cover the glued down ribbon, add a layer of paper. This one I used only one color. but you can use different ones if you like. The heart in the center is larger than the cutout so not to have problems with lining it up perfectly with the cutout.

These are the side views of the card when opened. I really like using the ruffled edged ribbon that Stampin' Up! sold. I bought as much as I could before they stopped selling it. Hope you enjoyed this card. Thanks for stopping by.

Seven Falls Colorado

 February 15, 2024

I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day/Ash Wednesday yesterday. Sorry I've been on hiatus for a little while. I've been busy working on crafts and other things. I'll try to do better. Today's scrapbook pages are part of the reason I decided I should show my scrapbook ideas. I was looking for ideas for our vacation in Colorado for Seven Falls and Garden of the Gods. I didn't find much so hopefully if someone is searching, my ideas will help them.

Colorado scrapbook page

This is one of those square/rectangle layouts. I thought it was perfect for all our pictures. I guess you can see who we were cheering on for the Super Bowl. Go Chiefs!

And page 2 is quite the same. Here are the two together:

I think they flow together very nicely. The biggest thing is measuring and lining up so everything fits.
Hope you enjoyed today's pages. Have a great day!

Bonjour! A little bit of Paris

February 2, 2024

Happy Ground Hog Day! Today's page I had some fun with. Since she was all dressed up from church and wanted her photo taken, I thought a dressed up page was in order. She would love to travel to Paris some day. We do have some French in our heritage. I actually ordered a Stampin' Up! stamp set in French. There's only two stamps with words, and the rest are pictures, so I used the bonjour on the tag. The Eiffel Tower and chandelier are from Cricut and I stamped so many different stamps all over the page.

A little bit of Paris Scrapbook page

Maybe someday I'll be able to make her a scrapbook of her trip to France. Maybe she'll even take me with her. I would have a lot of fun doing both!

What a Cutie!

February 1, 2024

This one I have to admit I pretty much stole the idea from Sarah8914 on Scrapbook.com. Here is the link to her idea: https://www.scrapbook.com but isn't that the point of these blogs and posts? To help give ideas to help you make your own...

What a Cutie scrapbook page

Obviously, if you look at hers compared to mine, they are not exactly the same, besides the photos. I take it as a compliment if someone likes your idea and does there own thing with it. If you do comment, please do not compare mine to hers, like the who wore it best. This isn't a competition, it's her ideas and my ideas. Both, I believe, are great! And I'm sure if you make one, it will be great too! Hope you have a great day!

Two Pages of Love

 January 31, 2024

Today is a 2 page spread. They don't really have anything to with each other, but thought they would look good together. The first page is my daughter and I. Obviously we were having a great time! The frames I used were dies for cards, but I think they do well for scrapbooks too.

The second picture doesn't seem like it should go in her scrapbook, but if you knew how much she loved pets, you'd understand why our Sasha deserved her own page in her book. My son on the other hand would be baffled of why I would do a page like this for him. Not to say he doesn't love animals, he did want to be a zookeeper for awhile, but he would only expect pictures of the pets if he's in the photo too.

We sure miss this sweet dog, but my daughter will have a great page to look back on. And here are the two pages together:

I hope you like them as much as we do.

Birthday Photo Day Scrapbook Page

 January 30, 2024

Well, I already edited my photo with Jan. 30, so I guess I'll have 2 for the day. This one is of my daughter's birthday pictures. I believe they were taken at Sears.

Birthday Photos scrapbook page

I used a lot of Cricut cutouts and a few dies from Stampin' Up! The picture in the top right is actually in a window die, I just cut our the cross pieces to have one picture. I bought a paper pack that had the I Love you in black and glitter. It's so pretty. The bottom is a roll of glitter tape.

Adorable school photo

 January 30, 2024

I'm sure some are wondering about me posting the dates on my photos. I've noticed before going to someone's blog and the right photo doesn't always come up and there's no way but to guess on how to find it. I thought if I added the date here and on the photo then it would be easier to find, if the link doesn't work correctly.
Today's scrapbook page is a single class photo. I don't do a lot of single photos, but there are exceptions. I really like this photo of my daughter. I used my Cricut to cut a lot of this out. And even though you can't tell, the background color has more green to it. I had to lighten it for the detail which ended up changing the color.

School Pic scrapbook page

The second picture shows a close-up of the flowers. It's been awhile since I did this, but I believe i just glued the beads down, brushed a little glue on and sprinkled with some glitter.

I think it really added to this picture of her. Also in this picture you can see more of the green color of the background paper. Have a great day!

Soccer Fun!

January 29, 2024

So today I have a couple of pages for my little soccer player. No, she doesn't play anymore, but it sure was cute watching these little ones play. For my typed labels, I use PrintMaster. There are many other programs to choose from and can come in handy when making a scrapbook, cards, or other projects. In the background of the label is a soccer ball that I opaqued. PrintMaster comes with preloaded pictures, or you can use your own or get one off the internet and use it.

The second page was a lot of work, especially since I didn't have a punch or die to use for the 1" squares. I do now, thankfully. This one I had to use some photos I had cut down and then cut the grass scenes into squares. I only had one with a tiny soccer ball in it, so I used it.

Her player's card I used a Pokémon card holder, I stole from my son, who was quite upset that I had. Oops! He ended up getting a whole box of them for Christmas. Anyways, I used a punch to cut the semicircle out. I wish I could have only cut one side, but it was too thin to slide the punch into. Maybe a die would have worked better. Now the card can be pulled out to read the other side. If you use this idea, make sure you use some super sticky glue tape, acid free of course, to hold it in place. You can see where I placed mine when the card is out.

So together in the scrapbook it looks like this:

Sorry about the glare on the pages. I figure it's more about the scrapbook ideas, than my photos. Hope you enjoyed these pages.

Swimming Lessons

 Jan. 27, 2024

Ah, those first swimming lessons, where a parent has to get in and help. We learned quickly, as this was our only daughter, that 2 piece swimming suits are much better for younger children. Trying to get a 1 piece off to go to the restroom can take too long! Especially for our little one who has sensory processing disorder (SPD) and didn't know she had a full bladder until she had to go! Over the years she has done a lot better with her SPD, so to any parents out there, know that they will learn how to cope with it in their own way.

This page I made the unfortunate decision to ask her if she wanted me to do the sequins and another choice, I don't remember now, but it would have been a lot easier. She of course chose the sequins. That took a little while to glue on, however, they have stayed on nicely over the last 20 years!

Getting Glasses for the First Time

January 26, 2024

Today I'm sharing my scrapbook page of my daughter getting her very first pair of glasses. I love how when she was little she didn't know how to smile. She'd show her teeth, but then the edges would down instead of up. Makes her look like she doesn't like what she's doing. I found the eyechart on the web somewhere. I'm really good at doing that. That's where the eye apparatus machine came from too. Although you can't see it, I used Crystal Effects on the pictures that are in the eyeglasses. Stampin' Up! no longer sells it, but you can also use Ranger's Glossy Accents.

I did a little coloring and sculpted some petals for the flower. It's funny how pictures can't always pick up on all the details you can do on a page. Anyways, hope you enjoyed todays scrapbook page.

Wedding Scrapbook Page

January 25, 2024

So I know I haven't used this blog in a few years. I was selling Stampin' Up! for awhile and had another blog. But now I'm not selling it and I'm going to share any of my crafts, whether they are Stampin' Up!'s or not. I have several scrapbook pages from my daughter's scrapbook,  I've taken time to photograph and will start with those. They are quite a few years old, but thought it might help other people with ideas. So here is my first one. It is at my brother's wedding.

Obviously, I'm not the best scrapbooker. I didn't know each page was to have a title. Personally as long as I've written down something so years later whomever looks at it knows what's going on, then I think I've achieved my goal. My poor flower got smushed in the album, but oh well... Also, sorry about the large print for this blog. Obviously not on the final project. Hope you like!
